Dr Ryan Heggie
Originally from Adelaide, Ryan graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Adelaide University) in 2001. In addition, he also holds two postgraduate diplomas in general dentistry and oral implants.
Ryan is no stranger to the west, having served the area for more than 15 years in Cobar, Nyngan and more recently Dubbo. During this time he has acquired a broad range of skills and experience. As a dentist Ryan considers himself to be gentle, genuine, pragmatic and committed to providing quality outcomes - first time, every time.
Ryan's particular areas of interest are orthodontics and implants, though he has experience with wisdom teeth removal, cosmetic procedures, and all other aspects of dentistry. He enjoys attending CPD courses around the country to keep in touch with recent developments in dentistry.
In his spare time, Ryan loves to fly, listen to music, and of course spend time with his young family. He and his wife Michelle have three young children who attend Macquarie Anglican Grammar School in Dubbo. He holds a Commercial Pilot Licence with Instrument Rating and is a volunteer pilot for Angel Flight. As a musician he has travelled Australia, New Zealand and the USA playing concerts on the Theatre Pipe Organ and is an associate of the AMEB.
Dr Charles Thompson
Hailing from Brewarrina, Charlie graduated with a Bachelor of Dentistry (Honours) from the University of Sydney in 2014. He moved to Cobar with his wife Caroline, who is also a dentist, in 2015 who also wanted to escape the city and service Western New South Wales. They have loved every day since.
Given the vast distances to the nearest dental specialists Charlie has acquired a skill set rapidly to be able to solve problems for his patients to save them the long travel times. Charlie considers himself patient, kind and caring and always willing to lend an ear to his patients presenting problems.
Charlie enjoys restorative dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics and orthodontics and has a broad range of skills in all other areas of dentistry. He is a member of the Australian Dental Association and frequently attends meetings and courses to stay abreast of the exciting changes in the dental world.
In his spare time Charlie enjoys spending time with his two young children, gardening and raising money for various charitable organisations he is involved with in Cobar.
